Employment

Employment is a critical social determinant of health, whether it provides a source of income, health insurance coverage, social connections, or a sense of pride. An individual's socioeconomic position can be shaped by various factors such as education, occupation, or income. All of these factors (social determinants) impact the health and well-being of people and the communities with whom they interact.
