John (JP) Miller-Purrenhage

John Paul (JP) is a first-year graduate student at Rutgers Camden in the Public Policy and Community Development Program. He received his bachelor's degree from Kalamazoo College in 2019 with a major in political science and a minor in Kalamazoo's anthropology and sociology program. JP plans to pursue a Ph.D. to teach and publish as a professor.

He has a strong background in political theory and enjoys analyzing historical political trends through different frameworks to explain the present or predict the future. His focus at Rutgers has been cultivating his skills as a researcher and social data analyst. JP is a writer and a performer at heart, and his experience with literature and theater profoundly informs how he sees and engages with the world.
