Biography

After 20 years of nutrition practice in pediatric HIV at the Rutgers François-Xavier Bagnoud Center, Dr. Pamela Rothpletz-Puglia transitioned to a faculty role at the Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) in 2013. Pamela's faculty role is multifaceted, including directing a graduate program, advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives–including the incorporation of trauma-informed care into everyday patient-centered practice, and building faculty and student qualitative and mixed methods research capacity through her role in SHP’s Methodology and Statistical Support Team (MSST). Pamela’s scholarship focuses on understanding the biopsychosocial context for creating healthy behavior, and she is deeply committed to participatory and team-based approaches.
