Prior to joining the REACH team in June of 2023, MaryAlice Rocks was a Pre-Award Specialist in the School of Engineering (SoE) at Rutgers. In that role, she worked with SoE Principal Investigators to develop compliant and competitive research grant proposals for a range of federal and private sponsors.


In her work as a grant writer at Passaic County Community College, MaryAlice co-wrote several successful proposals, including PCCC’s first Upward Bound project. She has held a number of roles in the nonprofit space, including a stint at Lincoln Center Institute, editing educational materials supporting the repertory. 


MaryAlice holds an M.F.A. in writing from Sarah Lawrence College and a B.A. in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is passionate about education, the arts, literacy, and social justice.
