Biography

Diane Hagerman joined REACH as Executive Director in April 2022, bringing her expertise in working with communities across the state to become healthier, more resilient, and more equitable. For 20 years prior, Diane served in several roles with New Jersey Health Initiatives, a statewide grant-making program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, most recently as Director.

In her career at NJHI, Diane oversaw the program’s communications functions while working directly with NJHI’s grantees to ensure they realized the full potential of their projects. Diane was instrumental in building strong networks among grantees and partners across the state and nationally, ensuring they had access to resources and experts to grow and succeed throughout and beyond their grant funding.

Diane’s career has spanned the fields of technology, casinos, and healthcare — diverse industries where she used her communications skills to engage audiences and influence change. Born in Newark and raised in Union County, Diane is a true “Jersey girl!” Her career focus is on improving the support and systems in our state to ensure that all residents have equitable access to resources and opportunities to live healthy, fulfilling lives free of social and economic barriers.

Diane currently serves as a member of the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers’ Board of Trustees, the Healthy New Jersey 2030 Advisory Council, and is a 2015 Lead NJ Fellow. Diane holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Marketing from Webber College in Babson Park, FL, and a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication from the University of Florida.
